The Fangtail is fast, surfs down the line and has an incredible amount of hold and drive. It's great in powerful waves. The design evolved out of a mix of board design elements. The Fangtail has a flatter section in the rocker like that in a performance shortboard. Channels are place in the deepest concave at the very back of the board, similar to the concept used in the traditional fish. The 'fangs' and channels act like teeth, gripping in the waves face and holding the straight exit rail line in the face of the water. Full parabolic curves are used in the board's outline and rocker. Add a carbon Kevlar tapered rail lap to ensure that an even flex is transferred through to the tail.
